My challenge of growing the AFL fanbase on here
« on: February 10, 2014, 12:46:06 AM »
We have lots of great sports fans on here that like different sports and that is great, but i would like to try and grow the AFL(Australian Rules Football) fan base on here.

The game is played around the world and is growing at a moderate rate but it is growing.

if you had to pick a team to follow, what would you look for ? colours ? success ? a young team on the rise ? maybe you like your teams to have the same nickname ?

if you are interested in finding out more about the sport, just leave a message in here

My plan in the past has been to get a tipping comp started for NGS members. Beyond 44Diesels I haven't had much luck...

it might get going a little bit if people learned the game, it is likely there is a team near where they live, as the game is growing the the states and around the world

The AFL are scouting over there

there are currently 36 usafl clubs and the AFL International cup is on here this year

KB, I still have the AFL tipping (pickems) game going on the same website as the soccer world cup one. The season is half over but you can still join if you like. It will automatically sign you up for next season...

So if the Swans win this year (not exactly unlikely...) do they join Geelong as the most dominant? 3 premierships, 1 GF loss. I guess the Swans missed the finals in '09...

No offense to Geelong but we have the dream Grand Final. Swans vs Hawks, Buddy vs his old team and the winner joins the Cats as the decade's most successful teams. I can't wait for Saturday, I hope the Swans win it by 50 but something tells me it will be another classic...
