WHERE DOES YOUR TEAM STAND IN THE PREDICTIONS
« on: February 24, 2014, 09:08:20 PM »
As we approach the upcoming Baseball Season of 2014, I would like to know your team and where they stand in the predictions of wins this year. Have they gained or lost ground since last year.

Listed below are the Win Totals posted for the 2014 season...

Arizona Diamondbacks - 81
Atlanta Braves - 86.5
Baltimore Orioles - 80.5
Boston Red Sox - 87.5

As you all know I am a NY Mets fan thru and thru. With the loss of Harvey to Tommy John surgery, for the year what was to be a promising year has been put on hold. I can say "Next Year" for the last 10 or so, but I don't think things are as bleak as they appear. This is the first year in the last 3 or 4 where the front office has opened their wallets and done some spending. Strengthening the outfield position with Curtis Granderson and the Harvey less pitching staff with Bartolo Colon. I wish they would have kept spending but that's because it's not my money.
They still have several holes including SS and 1ST.

I believe 71.5 is a bit low and think they will be somewhere in the area of 76 wins for the year. As always they must stay healthy, if that can occurr and Harvey has no setbacks than to ask him for 10 extra wins next year would not be out of the question

Braves sounds about right. I'm looking to make the playoffs and win the division only to get ripped in the playoffs again. SIGH

Pirates are up 7 games from last year's predictions.  :)

And your thoughts on that Blitz, can they maintain the pace or was it a one hit wonder?

Dee you'd go with the over no matter what they put up there, just so you'd have something to complain about grin1

Attendance does not add wins. It's only one game. Maybe its because you lost head to head with them. Did they make any good moves this year.

Chicago? Supposedly they have all these prospects who are due...I will believe it when I see it. The Cubs lost to everybody last year...doesn't help having the Pirates,Reds, and Cards in the same division..

Mets are hurt not having Harvey... he should come back and still be an ace. Tommy John Surgery isn't as devastating as it once.

Thanks, man. I am an old hand here, I just haven't posted here in like forever. Braves are still strumming the same old fiddle.

Well last year they won 94, and I doubt that happens again..I think they'll take a small step back, but still be above .500, so 86.5 seems about right.

Well I dont talk about baseball a heck of a lot but The Brew Crew have a lot better starting pitching rotation this year and I'm hoping they , like everyone hopes for, the team can stay healthy and I believe they'll be in the thick of things at the end of the season and eat up the Cards.     grin1

Yikes! ....FORE, you're the moderator here?

Looks like I have to behave then.

Agreed TX, but there  are not many teams this year that haven't been bitten by the injury bug.

True, but the rangers never had 50% of their starters on the roster together at the same time lol.  If I was Wash, I shut em all down and save em now .... sad

Question now is, does Washington keep his job in Texas? I'd keep him,  I can't fault him for all the injuries
