Get that chit over with already. The Giants are in mid season torture mode already.

If that's the case, then I may have to take a lil break between basketball and baseball.

Not that I'm complaining, because my Cats are in the Final Four,
But I've been a basket-case 2 1/2 of the last 4 games,
And I'm sure the game on Saturday will be no different.

I don't know how much my heart can take.

Ok, not a big fan of instant replay as it came back and bit us in the ass last night. Fourth inning Pollock reaches base for the D'Backs. Cain picks him off but the ump calls him safe and Bochy challenges the call. The repplays prove inconclusive so the call stands and Bochy loses any future challenges. A few pitches later Pollock tries to score from third on a past ball, Posey gets the ball to Cain in time and they clearly get the out but the ump misses the call and calls him safe. Bochy can only come and argue cuz he done blown his only challenge on the play at first. This makes the score 4-3 but the Giants go on to lose 5-4. Is  one challenge going to be enough? Are managers going to have to come up with some unwritten rules on when the right times are to make the challenges? Who knows. All I know is the ump blew a cleaar call and The Giants could do absolutely nothing.

The part that cracks me up is how some pundits immediately jumped on the "banish replay!" bandwagon.

The challenge system is stupid.  To me it's almost as much about theatrics as it is getting the call right.  At least MLB isn't nearly as bad as the NFL's system, with the ref going under the uber mysterious black hood to review the play.  The NHL has this system right.  Centralized and there are no challenges, although it is much simpler in that only goals are reviewed.

The best part of the 4 game set at Arizona?  Other than winning 3 of 4......the pitching performance turned in by Tim Hudson.  That was pretty awesome.

Giants lose 1-0. Cain throws 7 innings of 4 hit baseball, gives up 1 earned run while striking ut 8.....he gets no run support. Look familiar?

That doesn't sound even remotely familiar...
Especially with Cain on the mound.

Cain the last 2 years has been awful. MadBum last year had the worst run support and lost some games like this because the Giants couldn't hit chit.

I was being facetious.
For years, it seemed like, the run support, such as it was, would seemingly disappear whenever Cain would take the mound.
That guy would throw a 2-hitter, and still end up with a big ol' "L."

Many fans of other teams did not realize how good he was, simply because if you looked at his win-loss record, he didn't look so great.  You know...those who jump to conclusions without looking at lil things like ERA.

btw - You will never see me refer to Bumgarner as "Mad Bum."
That always makes me think it sounds like he has an angry ass.
I know many refer to him that way, but...

There aren't too many things in life better than knocking off the Dodgers in extra innings.

Me likee taking the 1st 2 games in a 3 game set.  4-1 against the hated Dodgers so far, also 4-2 in the last 6 games, all decided by 1 run.  Looks like another year of torture.

Looks like another year of torture.

If torture wasn't involved, they wouldn't be the Giants.

No they wouldn't. Good thing is they are on the high side of the 1 run games.

Giants lose back to back 2-1 games. Cain throws 7 innings, 8 K's and an unearned run. Belt hits a homer in the ninth to give the Giants hope but Sanchez strikes out with Pence at second to end the game.

Giants lose 3-1. Another quality start wasted with no offense. Michael Morse accounted for the Giants only run with his 3rd homer of the year.
