The Only Republican Candidate I'd Consider Voting For
« on: May 28, 2015, 06:28:20 PM »
I just spent the second half of my day watching interviews of all of the Republican candidates on my phone during a work function conference call.

The only one of these yahoos I'd even consider voting for is Rand Paul.  He's the only one who breaks the mold of stale Republicanism.  I think his views on marriage equality and women's rights are completely insane, but I tend to agree with him more than the others on economics and foreign policy.

The rest of these doofuses are either cookie-cutter hacks or wingnuts who should be analyzed.

I never thought I'd say this, but he would also be the only one I'd consider voting for, too.  :shock:

Well, maybe Rubio too.  None of the rest, though.

Didn't he say parents should be able to choose whether to immunize their kids?

I think so.  And even though not immunizing your kids is moronic, I tend to agree with that notion on principle.  Just don't be surprised when your little walking disease factory isn't allowed in public school.

So, do you hate your governor?

Hate isn't the word I'd use, but I certainly don't like him.

In a general election matchup, Clinton gets 46 percent of American voters to 42 percent for Rand Paul and 45 percent of voters to 41 percent for Rubio. She leads other top Republicans:

46 - 37 percent over Christie;
47 - 40 percent over Huckabee;
47 - 37 percent over Bush;
46 - 38 percent over Walker;
48 - 37 percent over Cruz;
50 - 32 percent over Trump.

This is supposedly as of today.  http://www.quinnipiac.edu/news-and-events/quinnipiac-university-poll/national/release-detail?ReleaseID=2228

Huckabee is that high?

One of the reasons I put "supposedly".   Maybe name recognition plays a part?  "Which bass playing arch-Baptist was the governor of Arkansas after Bill Clinton?"

There are currently NO Democratic candidates I'd vote for. And no Republicans, either. Can I write in King Scuzz?

Gary Johnson is running again.

  I tried talking Alice Cooper into it but he declined.  "Chasing the grand kid around the floor" currently.

Rand Paul is closest to Alice in beliefs, as far as I can tell, anyway.

I kinda like Carly Fiorina plus she has actually accomplished something in life besides being a politician.

Jeb Bush was a very good governor in Florida and think he would be a vast improvement over his brother.

Rand Paul is interesting but tends yo go off the reservation more often then I am comfortable with.

I don't know enough about Scott Walker to have an opinion right now.

Rand votes a little too much with his heart over his head. I liked his pop because of how limited he wanted the federal government's power regardless of how he personally felt about an issue.

Just maybe "going off the reservation" is what we need.  Status quo doesn't seem to be cutting it

Seriously, I think Jeb would be okay. But I seriously don't know.
