I saw the cartoon version with Mickey and Goofy.

Is that the one where Minnie kept dropping her shorts?

Nice outfit, Baby.

In Rome, wealthy foxes shaved off ALL of their hair, and wore wigs on heir heads and merkins on their pubes.

In Amer-ika, babes save money by skipping the merkins.

In Rome, the peachiest job was being the proconsul of a conquered province, as he could gain enormous wealth by taxing the conquered.

When Amer-ika conquers a country the the war/occupation is paid for with the magic credit card, which causes the NATIONAL DEBT to skyrocket driving rEPUBLICANS nuts.

How did that work out for Pilate?  Wasn't it "nine years and retired by poison"?

Nice outfit, Baby.

That's better than a long life in Palestine.

Romans' favorite entertainments were gladiatorial spectacles and rude plays featuring fart jokes.

Same in Amer-ika.

You forgot about feeding Christians to the lions. That hasn't happened here yet.

Empire, not Republic.  Emperors have a different view of people who do not believe they are gods.

What's the difference?

Famous Romans, in addition to having given names (like Gaius) and family/surnames (like Julius), also were given names indicating familial highlights (like Caesar = hirsute).

This is like Amer-ika's Ronald Reagan Asshole.

So Adam Sandler would have been big in Rome?

The Republic would have borrowed money from the Jews.  (Remember, Saul of Tarsus was a Jew, a Pharisee AND a Roman citizen.) The Emperors would later kill Jews and set Christians on fire.

Nice outfit, Baby.

The Romans had no problems with Jews, it was Christians they hated.

Accept the million Jews they killed in Jerusalem in 66-70 AD.  Remember when they demolished the temple?

And now the pope lives there. Talk about irony...

this is all well and good, but lets not forget what ultimately happened in Rome.

Julius
Octavian
Claudius
Caligula
Nero
Augustus was unanimously given all those powers by the people that insisted he have them, but was never more powerful than anyone.

His autobiography says so.

*Except

Also that was more of a show of power when the Jews got unruly more so than killing them just for being Jews.

I don't think you read your own links because it says that in the very first sentence.
