Advice from the NASCAR family
« on: April 03, 2017, 11:51:49 AM »
I am looking for ideas from all of you, our NASCAR family.

If I was to move south from Wisconsin, where would be the best place to go?

Post your thoughts....

Thanks,
Jedi

A lot of that depends on you. What are you looking for ?? Weather, nature, a job, hot chicks to look at ????

I have a hot chick, so it would come to good weather, decent nature areas, not a huge city but no Mayberry either.
Somewhere with stuff to do but not a bunch of traffic jams and smog.  A good job market is a plus.

Warmer weather is calling.

When you find that place, let me know. I've spent most of my life in Calif. I can think of 2 areas that might work. Anything north of San Diego along the coast is NICE. Encinitas, Del Mar, Alpine.

I lived in Northern Calif for about a year. Placerville. Its about half way between Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe. It's more rural. If that's what your looking for.

Sounds nice.  When I think of California, I think of a high cost of living.  I suppose that depends where you live.

That's true. Real estate, taxes ?? It's bad if moving here from somewhere out of state. But I've NEVER shoveled snow in my life !!!!!!!!!!!! Utah's nice.( St George area) But the people in the rest of the state are weird.

I've liked Tennessee.  I am going to Texas next month for a couple weeks.  So we will see how that goes.

I think Middleburg FL is a nice place as long as you aren't a goat.
The downside of being better than everyone else is that people tend to assume you're pretentious.

Pensacola Florida...
Still not to big of a place like most places in Florida, not overly crowded yet.. Beaches in your back yard and only in the 30's a couple weeks a year.
I was raised there and i hope to go back someday ....

Plus Five Flags Speedway is some of the best short track racing in the country.

Plenty of jobs also.

No state income taxes, no food tax, yep 100.00 grocery bill you get 100 dollars worth of groceries, and low property tax.

Still a great place....   well you asked.  Spikes.

Ok, Yeah I have heard that the panhandle is almost like a whole different state versus the "peninsula"

Not a bad suggestion there Spikes.

Any others???

Cheesesteaks?  sure.

When I was describing southern Calif, I left out the fact that the Rams and Chargers are playing here now. I thought it wise to do so.

A buddy of mine lives about a half an hour out outside of Memphis, Tenn. He says it's great.

How could anyone even think of moving out of this beautiful state to earthquakes, hurricanes, hundreds of tornadoes , huge crime, and NO GOOD CHEESE! ?

LOL, just kidding Jedi.

My question is, why south?   Bristol Tennessee is a great place but I'm not sure about work. Maybe you could go into the goat cheese business? Super would probably invest

True, the cheese out of state is usually pretty blah.

Wouldn't that depend a lot on the job market for your profession?  If I were going somewhere to work, I'd look maybe to North Carolina.  If it was retirement, then a small home around Phoenix in the Winter and another around Flagstaff in the Summer.  grin1

Went out last night and got really wasted.
I woke up in the middle of the night next to some chick who was snoring and farting, so I knew I made it home OK.

Mrs. Jedi seems to think that Memphis sounds nice.  Never been there, so not sure.

I like Memphis but crime is up there in places.

If you want West Tn I'd check out Jackson.  It's not a huge place like Memphis or Nashville and I'm thinking the job market is decent. It's only about an hour and a half from Memphis.

If you are looking into Middle Tn, check out places like Franklin and Mt Juliet. I'm honestly not super familiar with them, but if I'm remembering right they are some of the quickest growing places in Tn.

As for East Tn, I have no clue, but I might could find out if you really wanted to know.

I do have to say I'm partial to Tn but then I've lived here all my life.
