This is a true story.

Me and my dad were fishing on a watershed lake down the road from our house.  There were lilly pads all over this lake, so I was using a grass frog thrown on top of the lily pads since it was weedless.  Something kept striking at it, but it wouldn't ever take the lure.

I finally let it take it.  It ran for a good 20 seconds or so before I set the hook, and I mean I set the steel to it.  This sucker pulled and fought harder than anything I had ever hooked before.  I get it almost to the boat, and all I can see is this huge mouth before it went back deeper in the water.  We don't have those crystal clear waters down here.

I fought it back to the front of the boat where my dad had the dip net.  He got it out of the water, and to my utmost suprise, I didn't have that wall hanger hooked that I thought I had.  I had caught a bullfrog.  With it's legs stretched out, it measured 29 inches from it's mouth to it's feet.  That's one fishing trip I'll never forget.

I used to live in Texas in a golf community sort of place and they used to have a lot of alligators everywhere. There are a few now, but you used to be able to see 2-3 every time you went fishing. My dad caught one using a large saltwater surf rod, hit it over the head a few times to knock it out with a 2x4 and threw it in the back of the truck. Damn thing woke up on the way home so we had to do it again. Thought it was dead for sure this time around, until we were in the garage cutting on his tail and the gator's eyes popped open! I was only around 8 years old so I freaked out! My dad quickly grabbed a sledgehammer and took care of it for good. First time I've ever eaten gator, only other time was in some gumbo in New Orleans.

I went fishing on this lake called Boom Lake on Labor Day weekend.. Caught quite a few panfish but only kept enough for a meal.. Some were small and we threw them back. It took us longer than we would have liked to get a meal but w/e it was good eatin and a fun time.

Our lake got thick with plant life!

We get a bass on our line, then they get all tangled up in it, then I have to go out in the paddle boat to get them un-stuck.

That paddle boat comes in handy!
I catch a huge bass!!!! Then, wham!!! The lines get tangled so I call DHB!!!!
