Dude is a real coach.  Won a State Championship with an undefeated team this.  Has all the credibility he needs to hold the job.

Would they hire him without the kids coming?

Is it a good hire if his kids decide to go to UConn or Kentucky?

If his kids go to Ole Miss or UT or Kentucky because they hired him first, yes it is.

I'm sorry, tg, but it just sounds dirty to me.  I can understand from your viewpoint, though

Say my son is an NBA potential player. My backround is accounting. I tell the media that my son will go to the school that gives me a job second in command in the comptrollers office. The NCAA would have  chit-fit. But this situation is OK? I don't buy it

Lawson is already a professional coach, not an accountant.  He is qualified for the position.

He'll be hired on as the third assistant coach, not some bogus "director of operations" made up job.

Tell me more how it's dirty.

Ask yourself, would you be as strongly in favor of hiring him if he had 3 daughters and not 3 sons?

Not a valid question.  Besides, he has four sons and his wife was a pretty good basketball player herself.

OK, it's really just me.  I hate the whole college recruiting game, basketball, football tiddlywinks. If any school should get him, it is Memphis, since he did his high school work there. Besides, with all the precedents for this style of hiring, it is just the way it is. I just don't like it.

Here's a valid question.  Was it dirty for Brewster Academy to hire a championship coach from Tennessee as an assistant, along with free schollies for his kids?  How much do you think that's worth?

Man, it's making me tired thinking about it.

Anybody heard a good song lately? Read a good book?
Reading "Devil in the White City" right now. Pretty crazy.

I've been around a lot of kids and from my experiences, they handle news of death a whole lot better and calmer than the adults in the room.

There is nothing dirty about hiring a coach to coach.
Look, I am an idiot, but I am still smarter than __________.

Of course not, but I don't like that he is using his kids as leverage to get a College job.

Isn't that what's happening, or did I miss something?

It sounds like that's what's happening, to me.
Then again, he wouldn't be the first father/relative to do it.

What do you want to bet, though, if it was a different school, some people would be all up in arms over how dirty, or whatever, it is.

When their is suspicion that an animal has rabies and is in your presence and you either kill it or it sustains an incapacitation from a defense posture or it dies as a result of a wound, according to animal control and SPCA, you must remove the head and transport it to the closest control department so as to be tested. BC is correct they study the brain matter.

My experience was rather different than protocol. I shot it and let Waste Management take care of all the burial arrangements
