How to end the game and proclaim a winner.
« on: October 31, 2012, 10:31:39 PM »
From what I'm led to believe from Fog, the game ends when you (the admin) make a quest that is the final one.  I'm not sure how else the game can be ended or if you can declare a winner based on number of player kills, monster slays, highest level, etc.

If you have any suggestions on how to make it better please post them.

One thing I'd like to see is if you die and don't have the money to buy more energy, health, etc, you are automatically resurrected after a 48 hour time period with all of you health, energy in place to try and start again.  Too many people are in the graveyard.  I don't know if this can be done though.

What we can do is promote the idea that were going to have a starting point sometime in the future and we reset the game so everyone is at zero and then introduce a final quest so the game ends when someone is the first to complete the final quest.  That person will be crowned the winner of that segment.

We can do some short segments to refine this idea.

What we need to look at is:

Are we creating exploring with too much bad results...we can create good results for both choices to get rid of that problem.

I don't mind that idea at all.  It would be interesting to have the winner have to do more than level.  Can some of the quests on the way to the final be accessible by number of monster kills, or member kills, rather than just XP level?  It would force you to make your character more rounded and give a reason to battling each other.

Maybe more of an incentive can be implemented to play the game, even it's just something like earning NGS bucks.

The game's simplicity is what makes it fun and addicting to play, but there's fewer than 10 people who play it. We should find ways to draw more people into the game.

Not convinced there needs to be a winner, but an end game would be ideal.

Do we want a final quest?

Without a final quest the game doesn't end and we keep on creating harder monsters and quests.

As I create monsters and quests I can't imagine level 5000 let alone level 50...

i'm curious - i see "leaders" listed, with dates. what exactly happened there?

I had a quest set as a final...Can you see dates?...most of them came on the same date as i was doing some testing after a couple questions.

I'm thinking we have a quest to end the game around at the end of the month and have a "winner" declared.

I was thinking of setting the quest at a level attainable by several of usual players unless someone thinks I set the quest at level 800 or so.

One of the reasons I was thinking of ending it is to let everyone start over for 2013 and maybe that will entice more people to play.

Lets set up a short games in 2013 and keep track of final quest victories.

Ending it on 12-31 works

I have selected a random quest to be "Final" so we can then declare a winner.  Not sure if the person who first completes the "Final" quest will automatically be proclaimed the winner or how that works, but, I'm sure we'll find out.

I like your idea of having "shorter" games.  Maybe we should just make a final quest and make it "final."

The tank idea is cool....but need something with higher attack levels.  I raised my attack to fight high level monsters and now I barely get any experience points....yet these tanks with a "20 attack" somehow do as much as 24 damage to my 1800+ defense  LOL

I also looked back at some shoutouts....one that caught my eye was the horse.  Shouldn't it increase energy and/or simply cost gold?Seems if ya got a horse, your energy would be better off...lol

Congrats Arasmis....you appear to be the champ!

Great feed back Tx....

We'd like to get eveyone's attention before we reset the game and create our own game.

What I'd like to see is how we can refine the ideas with the tanks and create shorter games that keep everyone more interested.

I've been on the road traveling all week for work, but, I'll try and start thinking/helping if I get a moment this weekend.  It might depend on the outcome of the GB v SF game.

I like what you did with the prizes behind the boxes. That Ninersmaniac is getting pretty rich off of me. lol (can we fix that Fog!) And that Paul4cats person is getting his share too. Some of the Tanks could be alittle more challenging. The prizes behind the boxes could use more stuff.

I can fix it all and make the final quest easy as pie so the game ends.

How fast did it take you to get to level 100?

Anyone that is past level 100 should have no problems with the tanks.

As long as your Health is 100 you should be able to take a few defensive hits and still win.

SF, I'm looking to crown segment winners and then have prehaps an overall yearly winner.

In order to do this we have to have a final quest.

Once someone completes the final quest it restes the game.

Whatcha thinking?  I like your idea of trying to have a few winners during the season and then a final winner.  Don't know how to do that though.

Another way would be to change the "final" quest every time a winner completes it to keep 'em guessing.  Be nice to "hide" the "Quest is final" notification visible in the game if we try that.

Final Quest is on the 100th level

Make it so each player can make it to the 100th level it shortern fashion to keep the game rolling over.

Create a better time span that allows us to create segments.
