The Super Seventies Lyric Quiz
« on: April 18, 2013, 07:35:04 AM »
Welcome CBS Refugees!  Welcome NGS veterans!  Welcome anyone else who happens to stumble in!

The 1970s were an exciting time for music, and many of us are of an age that grew durung that time, so many of these songs hold a lot of sentimental value.

Please answer a lyric puzzle before submitting your own, and please submit a new puzzle when you answer one.

Thank you and enjoy!

Spent my money, took my car, started telling her friends she's gonna be a star.
 I don't know but I been told, a big-legged woman ain't got no soul.

Oh it's so funny to be seeing you after so long, girl.
 And with the way you look I understand
 that you are not impressed.
 But I heard you let that little friend of mine
 take off your party dress.

There's a hole in daddy's arm where all the money goes.
And Jesus Christ died for nothin', I suppose.
Little pitchers have big ears, don't stop to count the years.
And sweet songs never last too long on broken radios...mmmm...

Sad preacher nailed upon the coloured door of time;
Insane teacher be there reminded of the rhyme.
There'll be no mutant enemy we shall certify;
Political ends, as sad remains, will die.

Till you can't hear the music for the bare feet

Well, I met a girl at the Rainbow bar
She asked me if I'd beat her
She took me back to the Hyatt House
I don't want to talk about it

My head, it keeps on reeling
 It's got me in a crazy spin
 Darling, darling, darling
 Is this the end?

Goin' to the late 60s for this one:

Black-roof country, no gold pavements, tired starlings.
Silver horses run down moonbeams in your dark eyes.
Dawn-light smiles on you leaving, my contentment.
