Geno Smith going number 1 overall
« on: April 24, 2013, 09:18:51 AM »
You need a franchise quarterback to win in the NFL.

8 of the first 9 picks are held by teams without a franchise quarterback.

Geno Smith is the only quarterback who is [probably] a franchise quarterback

Trading up is easier and cheaper than ever, thanks to the new CBA

Thus - some team in the top 9 is going to trade up to number 1 overall to draft Geno Smith.  Unless the Alex Smith led (lol) Chiefs take him first.

Christian Ponder was the 12th overall draft pick two years ago
Ryan Tannehill was the 8th overall draft pick last year

You NEED a quarterback to win in the NFL.

You can win without an offensive line (Steelers)
You can win without linebackers (Giants)
You can win without a running game (Packers)
You can win without a defensive line (Falcons)
You can win without defensive backs (Patriots)

You can't win without a quarterback

In 1999, Tony Banks had a quarterback rating of 82
In 1999, Trent Dilfer had a quarterback rating of 76

I'm not going to even bother looking up the 2011 quarterback ratings of Blaine Gabbert, Terrelle Pryor, Mark Sanchez etc.

2000 Ravens??? LOL

You are right though. If you can't pass with efficiency, you are done now-a-days.
So I am a Packers fan in North Carolina, that just means I'm smarter than the rest of 'em!!!

Geno Smith going number 1 overall: A tribute to Ftballgenius.

I wonder if the genius had anything to do with CBS shutting down the message boards?

Since Geno Smith is black he should be the first pick of the draft but the NFL racists will end up picking him much later.
Being right is the least of my concerns.

I'm not sure I would call this draft class bad, its very blue collar.  There is good talent that will be in the trenches, and the potential for pro bowl/all pro players are there.  There are not many(any) jaw dropping players that are going to actually touch the ball.  So the perception is there for a draft not many will talk about next week.

Went out last night and got really wasted.
I woke up in the middle of the night next to some chick who was snoring and farting, so I knew I made it home OK.

Looking a bit like Geno might drop out of the first.

No Geno in the first. Wherever Ftballgenius is, he's probably fuming.

un F***ing believable

The Cardinals drafted a F***ing GUARD instead of a quarterback

This is why the Cardinals draft in the top ten EVERY year - including NEXT YEAR

I was kind of shocked with the Raiders pick.  I'm not sure the guy they drafted will ever actually play.  From what I understand he hasn't played a snap since having a life threatening injury that most people actually die from.

Well ... the option was either draft a schitty Quarterback or a good lineman.

They made the right choice
Black quarterbacks suck anyway.

At least the Cardinals have made it to the superbowl in the last decade, unlike schitty franchises .... Cleveland, Atlanta, Detroit, ect.
