After Mexico 1 Jamaica 0 result:

#16 Mexico 1-0-3 3GF 2GA +1 = 6 points (4 games played)
#38 Panama 1-0-2 5GF 3GA +2 = 5 points
#48 Costa Rica 1-1-1 4GF 3GA +1 =4 points
#29 USA 1-1-1 2GF 2GA 0 = 4 points
#50 Honduras 1-1-1 4GF 5GA -1 = 4 points
#53 Jamaica 0-2-2 1GF 4GA -3  = 2 points (4 games played)

I watched the first half & maybe 15 min's of the 2nd half of the MEX-JAM game.  It looks like it's hard to score on Jamaica.

Honduras looked really good last night.  I'm surprised USA got the win, actually.  I was kind of hoping for a Costa Rica - Panama tie.

USA 4-1-1 8GF 3GA +5 = 13 points
Costa Rica 3-1-2 6GF 3GA +3 = 11 points
Mexico 1-0-5 3GF 2GA +1 = 8 points
Honduras 2-3-1 6GF 7GA -1 = 7 points
Panama 1-2-3 5GF 7GA -2 = 6 points
Jamaica 0-4-2 2GF 8GA -6 = 2 points

Apparently since going to this format no team with 13 or more points has failed to qualify for the World Cup.
2 games in September & 2 more in October.

USA: @ Costa Rica 9/6 (won 1st game 1-0), v Mexico 9/10 (tied 1st game 0-0), v Jamaica 10/11 (won 1st game 2-1), @ Panama 10/15 (won 1st game 2-0)
CR: v USA 9/6 (lost 1st game 0-1), @ Jamaica 9/10 (won 1st game 2-0), @ Honduras 10/11 (won 1st game 1-0), v Mexico 10/15 (tied 1st game 0-0)
MEX: v Honduras 9/6 (tied 1st game 2-2), @ USA 9/10 (tied 1st game 0-0), v Panama 10/11 (tied 1st game 0-0), @ Costa Rica 10/15 (tied 1st game 0-0)
HON: @ Mexico 9/6 (tied 1st game 2-2), v Panama 9/10 (lost 1st game 0-2), v Costa Rica 10/11 (lost 1st game 1-0), @ Jamaica 10/15 (won 1st game 2-0)
Panama: v Jamaica 9/6 (tied 1st game 1-1), @ Honduras 9/10 (won 1st game 2-0), @ Mexico 10/11 (tied 1st game 0-0), v USA 10/15 (lost 1st game 0-2)
Jamaica: @ Panama 9/6 (tied 1st game 1-1), v Costa Rica 9/10 (lost 1st game 0-2), @ USA 10/11 (lost 1st game 1-2), v Honduras 10/15 (lost 1st game 0-2).

USA 6 Belize 1 for USA's 6th win in a row. (7-2-2 on the year).
Next game is July 13 vs Cuba in Utah.  I'll probably have to watch that one in Spanish as well.

I missed the 4-1 Cuba game but caught the 1-0 game vs Costa Rica (in Spanish).  I think it's 8 wins in a row for the US Team.

This Sunday (07-21) it's the US vs El Salvador in Baltimore in a single elimination quarterfinal match.

5-1 win over El Salvador in Baltimore.  Next game is Wed (I think) vs Honduras in Dallas.
No way the US team should lose that one.

I was surprised to see people throwing crap at our player on our field.  I can't imagine Steelers fans throwing crap at a Ravens receiver not starting something that ends with multiple people leaving in ambulances.  I guess US Soccer fans haven't figured out how to be hooligans yet.

3-1 win over Honduras.  It should have been a much more lopsided win - I think but the officiating was absolutely horrible.

The US coach might be suspended for the Gold Cup final against Panama on Sunday.  I hope they also suspend that one Costa Rican Ref - for 6 months or so.
The US team has knocked Panama out of the GC knockout rounds all 4 times they've previously played.

Does the Gold Cup have anything to do with the World Cup?  Seems like all the same teams are in both tournaments.

Anyway, should be an exciting Final in Chicago.  Panama has alot of skill and speed and should test US early in this one.  I really like the Panamanian coach, he looks really likeable.

The Gold Cup is only North American, Central American, & Caribbean teams.

I don't know a whole lot about soccer, I pretty much just started following it this year & a couple of months ago.

Thanks for posting, btw, TBT.  Soccer isn't exactly highly thought of around here it seems.

USA MNT ranked #19 in the world (ahead of #20 Mexico for the first time since 2011).

Vs Bosnia and Herzegovina #13 in Bosnia Wed during the day @ 2:30 ET.
The last 2 times we played a higher ranked team we got drilled by #10 Belgium 4-2 & then beat #2 Germany 4-3 (I think it might have been Germany's "B" team, though).

The rain canceled my recording of yesterday's game.  I only got to see the highlights (i.e. goals).

The US beat Bosnia Herzegovina 4-3 after trailing 0-2, for their first comeback win in Europe & their 12th win in a row.
Altidore scored 3 goals - I wondered what happened to him & I am still not really sure why he was not on the team for the Gold Cup.
I thought I was going to get to watch the replay of the game at 8:00 but they had Mexico vs Ivory Coast on instead.  Mexico looks like whatever was wrong with them is better now.

The next game is Sept 6th against Costa Rica in San Jose, CR.
If we win I think we would have pretty much clinched a spot in Brazil.

We beat Jamaica 2-0 after switching alignments & scoring 2 goals near the end of the game.

The USA clinched 1st place in their group with that win & the Costa Rican loss.  Mexico stays alive with a bicycle kick at 84'.

USA 19
Costa Rica 15
Honduras 14
Mexico 11
Panama 8
Jamaica 4

Last games are all tomorrow (10/15/13):
Mexico @ Costa Rica (If Mexico loses & loses by a lot they could be knocked out of the 4th place play in game vs New Zealand)
Honduras @ Jamaica
USA @ Panama (The US is not playing a lot of players in this game.  My guess is that Panama wins this one easily).

My guess on the final standings:
USA 19
Honduras 17
Costa Rica 16
Mexico 12
Panama 11
Jamaica 4.
USA, Honduras, & Costa Rica go to Brazil & Mexico plays New Zealand - winner goes to Brazil.
The US game is not on any channel I get due to being played at the same time as the Mexico game.  bummer.

Well the final qualification games were played last night.  The standings are:

#13 USA (7-1-2) 15 GF 8 GA 22 points - qualified
#33 Costa Rica (5-3-2) 13 GF 7 GA 18 points - qualified
#40 Honduras (4-3-3) 13 GF 12 GA 15 points - qualified
#21 Mexico (2-5-3) 7 GF 9 GA 11 points - playoff vs #67 New Zealand to qualify
#35 Panama (1-5-4) 10 GF 14 GA 8 points
#78 Jamaica (0-5-5) 5 GF 13 GA 5 points

The US scored 2 late goals against Panama last night.  If we had not scored those goals Panama would be playing New Zealand instead of Mexico.
Panama (2-4-4) 10 GF 12 GA 11 points
Mexico (2-5-3) 7 GF 9 GA 11 points.
The goal differential for both is -2 & Panama would have won the next tiebreaker with 3 more goals scored.
I read something about the Mexican announcer going nuts when the US Scored to tie in the last minute of regular time vs Panama.  (We scored the winning goal in stoppage time).  "God Bless America" he said.

Next games are friendlies
Nov 15 #13 USA vs #63 Scotland in Glasgow
Nov 19 #13 USA vs #47 Austria in Vienna

The US tied Scotland 0-0.  I forgot about the game.  The game vs Austria is tomorrow 2:45pm EST.
